Coca-Cola Amatil NZ accredited once again with the Rainbow Tick

26th July 2018

Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand has once again received the Rainbow Tick accreditation recognising it’s commitment to building a truly diverse and inclusive culture.

The Rainbow Tick is an international accreditation, where businesses are formally recognised as LGBTQAI+ friendly. It’s a mark of confidence to show an organisation’s a high standard for their diversity and inclusion efforts.

The re-accreditation process begun in April which reviewed Amatil NZ policies and practices as expressly applied to the rainbow communities, adequate training programmes and staff support as well as active involvement with the external LGBTQAI+ community. Highlights from the audit include:

  • Amatil NZ exceeded the standard required to maintain its Rainbow Tick certification. This demonstrates its commitment to be a truly inclusive and welcoming workplace for Rainbow communities and the positive steps we have taken since initial certification.
  • Amatil NZ Rainbow employees say they can see the benefits of the Rainbow Tick – indicating a positive culture. Non-Rainbow employees indicated their clear support for this work.
  • Amatil NZ senior leaders expressed clear support for the programme.
  • Amatil NZ demonstrated continuous quality improvements in four out of the five audited areas.

Locally, Coca-Cola Amatil employs more than 1,000 people and has four production facilities across Auckland, Putaruru and Christchurch, along with 13 bottling lines and three warehouses. In 2017 Amatil NZ received the Aon Hewitt Best Employer accreditation for the second year running, this is only awarded to businesses that provide exceptional and positive workplace experiences and have high engagement.
